What would make this better? I'm not getting the same vibe from mine as I get from the reference. What's missing?
For this one, I worked with AI to generate many many reference images, tweaking the prompt and the ai parameters along the way. Then I sifted through to choose one I liked. I wanted something bleak, with muted earth tones, in a sort of impasto style. It was an interesting experience, though some may call it cheating, it is a useful tool when images online are missing the mark. I'm not quite satisfied with my version, it lacks a certain warmth that the reference image has.
Thank you! I imagine that's the best way to create an original work: to combine elements from several photos into one. I struggle when going pure imagination with no reference.

Wow I love the mood in this! I Google for ai generated ideas often, as I need somewhat of a reference photo for my paintings. Sometimes I pick out elements from several different photos. Creating from just my imagination is challenging. And I do not feel "guilty" lol.
